A quoting portal that replaced a spreadsheet

A freight forwarder’s customers used to email for a rate and wait a day. Now they log in, configure the shipment, and get a quote they can accept — inside WordPress.

Atlas Freight A quoting portal that replaced a spreadsheet

The brief

The rates lived in a spreadsheet that three people edited and nobody trusted. Every quote was a person copying numbers into an email. We put the rate table behind a plugin, gave each customer an account with their own negotiated rates, and built the configurator in front of it: lane, volume, incoterm, insurance. The quote is generated, versioned, and downloadable as a PDF that matches what the customer saw on screen. The part that mattered most was the boring part — one place where rates are edited, with a history of who changed what, so the number on the screen is the number the company actually stands behind.

What we delivered

  • A customer portal with per-account negotiated rates
  • Versioned quotes, exportable as a PDF that matches the screen
  • Customer accounts with their own pricing and history
  • An internal dashboard showing who changed which rate, and when
